2024 Summer Professional Development Conference

This two-day professional development training is designed to support new and next to new CTE teachers; those teachers with 0 to 5 years of teaching experience in the classroom, especially those teachers who are alternatively certified and those who are new to teaching as a second career.
Day one of this professional development training will focus primarily on CTE classroom management and instructional strategies to assist the CTE teacher in developing skills to become more organized and confident in producing quality lessons and instructional units and engaging students in higher order thinking skills and strategies.
Day two of the professional development training will transition from the content of day one to include the new and updated Program of Study Framework Refresh and changes, Updates to the Industry Based Certifications and a deeper understanding of Perkins V law and how they impact CTE instruction.
The professional development will culminate with a dive into the Texas Knowledge and Skills Standards (the TEKS), unpacking them, and understanding how the Standards drive CTE instruction.
